Sofija Korać, foreign policy advisor in the Department of State’s Bureau of International Organization Affairs (IO) at the United States Mission to the United Nations, earned a 2023 Employee of the Year award from CAREERS & the disABLED magazine for her professional accomplishments, community outreach, and advocacy for persons with disabilities. Korać’s work shows her commitment to promoting full, equal, and independent participation and inclusion of people with disabilities, including reforms to make U.N. resources, entrances, and routes through U.N. headquarters more accessible.
