American Space inaugurated in Indonesia’s national mosque

Embassy Jakarta, in collaboration with Indonesia’s National Mosque, Istiqlal, inaugurated an American Space located at the Mosque Library, June 6. Istiqlal Mosque is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the first and only mosque in the world with the Department of State’s American Space facility. This American Space joins an existing network of 12 American Spaces across Indonesia. U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Sung Y. Kim (left) described the collaboration as a way to expand the connections between the U.S. and the Indonesian people.
