Ambassador tours woman-owned poultry enterprise in Kenya

Ambassador Meg Whitman (left) visited a USAID-supported poultry enterprise owned by a local entrepreneur who goes by Mama Agnes (right) in northern Kenya to better understand efforts to build the resilience of communities and households in Isiolo County, April 3. This part of the country is facing recurring economic and climate shocks, creating fertile ground for conflict and extremism. U.S. government efforts to build economic stability through livelihoods such as poultry farming strengthens security within and beyond Kenya’s borders.
