Embassy Seoul shows support for autism awareness month

Embassy Seoul’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Council encouraged Mission Korea to “Light It Up Blue” for autism awareness month, April 3. The Mission had 47 members of its community show up, including members from the U.S. Consulate in Busan, and staff from the general services and public diplomacy sections dressed in blue clothing to show their support. Many gathered in the chancery cafeteria, including Deputy Chief of Mission Joy Sakurai (front, fourth from left). Several community members participated in additional events to show their support throughout the month of April, including an “IDEA Reads” book club recitation of “The Rosie Project” by Graeme Simsion and a volunteer 4.2 kilometer walk.
