Ambassador joins Filipino partners to celebrate relaunch of Baguio Museum

U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson (center, right of artwork) attends the unveiling of Ernesto Dul-Yang’s wood carving, “The Surrender of General Tomoyuki Yamashita,” at the Baguio Museum during her first visit to Baguio City, Sept. 1-3. At the event, she announced the Ambassadors’ Fund for Cultural Preservation grant of $133,526 to protect local treasures, and rehabilitate the museum. Carlson attended the city’s 113th Charter Day anniversary and met local government officials, institutional partners, and cultural groups to highlight the deep historical ties shared by the United States and Baguio City.
