Ambassador meets with refugees and front-line responders of Ukraine crisis

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield (left) traveled to Moldova and Romania, April 4-5, where she met with refugees, as well as U.N. and government officials leading the frontline response to the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine. Thomas-Greenfield conveyed the United States’ gratitude to the Moldovan and Romanian people for opening their borders, hearts, and homes to refugees. She also announced $50 million in assistance to help Moldova cope with the effects of Russia’s brutal war. In Romania, Thomas-Greenfield announced that the United States, in close coordination with Ukraine and other partners, would seek the Russian Federation’s suspension from the U.N. Human Rights Council.
