Embassy Muscat partnered with the Omani government and the American business community to launch a successful campaign to highlight the benefits of the U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement. The campaign featured a mix of specially branded social media content and high-profile events that brought together government and private sector leaders. An embassy-grant to the Oman American Business Center funded the creation of a promotional video which was shared widely on social media and at events across the region. Ambassador Leslie Tsou (fifth from left) hosted Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef (fourth from left) along with representatives of the U.S. business community at the launch of the promotional campaign, Dec. 8, 2021. An investment seminar held by the Omani government at Expo 2020 in Dubai attracted 20 high-profile U.S. companies looking to invest in Oman. In 2022, bilateral U.S.-Oman trade totaled $3.3 billion, exceeding pre-pandemic levels of $3 billion in 2019.
