Department task force monitors Russian invasion of Ukraine

Working in three, 8-hour shifts, seven days a week, employees from across the Department of State have been monitoring the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Task Force. From a control center in the Harry S Truman Building, this dedicated team is providing real-time feedback to Department leadership and supporting colleagues and American citizens abroad. Clockwise from left: Eddie Vasquez, a senior advisor in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, monitors media reports; Sam Boone, a telecommunications manager in the Bureau of Information Resource Management, provides IT support to the Ukraine Task Force; and Tiffany Murphy, a border security programs manager in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, monitors security alerts and travel advisories, March 7.
