Chargé d’Affaires to the Republic of Korea Chris Del Corso (center) learned how to play yutnori, a traditional Korean Lunar New Year game, from Korean youth outreach coordinators at the American Center in Seoul, Jan. 28. In yutnori, players toss long wooden “yut sticks” (jang-jak-yut) instead of dice to determine how many spaces their tokens can move on a board. U.S. diplomats seek out opportunities to respectfully engage with host-country traditions and cultures in order to build and strengthen international partnerships.
