Embassy Islamabad breaks ground on educational foundation

Chargé d’Affaires Angela P. Aggeler (center) broke ground on the first permanent headquarters of the U.S. Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) along with USEFP’s Executive Director Rita Akhtar (right), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Additional Secretary Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi (left), Feb. 16. This marked a new milestone in the 75-year U.S.-Pakistan relationship. Once completed, the building will be a state-of-the-art facility for student testing services, EducationUSA advising, and administration of the Fulbright and other U.S. government exchange programs. USEFP serves as the official U.S. government resource for all students interested in pursuing education opportunities in the United States.
