CMP guides first steps towards the return to the workplace

Acting Under Secretary for Management Carol Perez announced the launch of the COVID-19 Mitigation Process (CMP), Sept. 28. The CMP replaces Diplomacy Strong as the Department of State’s framework for upholding model safety principles outlined in the Workplace Safety Plan and for evaluating local risk indicators to determine the appropriate on-site workforce posture and necessary mitigating actions. The CMP incorporates what has been learned about keeping people safe in Department facilities and enables management to make data-informed decisions about on-site presence at the local level. Beginning Nov. 1, and in accordance with the CMP, domestic employees whose functions align with the appropriate CMP workforce posture may be required to work onsite.
