U.S. Army soldiers assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment “Iron Rangers,” 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, call in a medical evacuation during a situational training exercise in Cincu, Romania, Sept. 23. This training was part of multiple situational training exercises that U.S. soldiers executed with NATO Allies Romania, Poland, and Portugal. Representing a diverse interagency team, the U.S. Mission to NATO reports to both the secretary of state and the secretary of defense. In addition to policy coordination, the Mission plays a vital role in coordinating U.S. military engagement with NATO Allies, including exercises designed to increase interoperability and reinforce Transatlantic security.
