Ambassador Lynne M. Tracy (far right) toured police facilities in the northern city of Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, which will soon house new patrol police officers as well as a regional dispatch center. The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs section at Embassy Yerevan is assisting the government of Armenia in advancing criminal justice sector reform and modernizing law enforcement institutions for the benefit of the Armenian people. The new Patrol Police Service is scheduled to begin training 590 selected candidates in November. During her tour, Tracy said, “the United States remains committed to supporting the Armenian government’s reform agenda aimed at modernizing law enforcement institutions for the benefit of the Armenian people.”
