During Black History Month in February, Passport Specialist Yaneth Birch, a recent Pathways graduate, interviewed 12 Black women and shared their stories with her team at the Seattle Passport Agency. In March, in honor of Women’s History Month, Birch interviewed women from different levels in government and again shared their stories with the agency. Birch also shared interviews she conducted with Bureau of Consular Affairs Acting Assistant Secretary Ian Brownlee on the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and with Black folk-blues singer Valerie June. The agency also provided staff with books and educational resources about Women’s History Month.
