Lesotho receives first delivery of COVID-19 vaccine

U.S. Ambassador to Lesotho Rebecca Gonzales (left) joined Prime Minister Dr. Moeketsi Majoro (center) and members of the diplomatic corps at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Maseru to receive Lesotho’s first delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine, March 3. The initial shipment of 36,000 vaccine doses was made possible through the COVAX Facility, a global initiative to support equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. Gonzales’ participation in the vaccine delivery underscored the importance of the longstanding U.S.-Lesotho partnership and America’s ongoing support of the Ministry of Health in the local response to control the spread of COVID-19.
