ConGen Wuhan shares lessons learned

The Operations Center’s Office of Crisis Management and Strategy (CMS) hosted more than 170 participants for a webinar entitled “Lessons Learned from CG Wuhan,” July 9. Russ Westergard, acting consular chief for the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan, discussed Wuhan’s ​suspension of operations and subsequent repatriation of private U.S. citizens, fielding more than a dozen audience questions. “CMS Presents…” is an educational and outreach initiative that seeks to expand the Department of State’s crisis preparedness by inviting Department officials and guests to discuss global events from a crisis management perspective.
