The Department of State was honored with the “CAREERS & the disABLED” 28th annual public-sector Employer of the Year award, July 2020. The award was received for the Department’s commitment to the promotion of diversity and inclusion in its workforce, and it’s dedication to supporting and advancing workforce diversity—including employees with disabilities. The award recognizes the Department’s long-term commitment to ensuring it’s workforce represents the diversity of America. Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Global Talent Carol Z. Perez remarked in the publication how the Department was honored to receive this award, especially in the year of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
