Even during these unusual times, deeply rooted traditions remain. The Marine Security Guard (MSG) detachment at Embassy Luxembourg continued the long-standing custom of honoring the fallen during Memorial Day weekend. MSG Marines participated in a wreath-laying ceremony, May 23, at the Luxembourg American Cemetery, which pays tribute to the U.S. service members who fought in World War II during the Battle of the Bulge and the advance to the Rhine River. More than 5,000 American warfighters are buried at Luxembourg, including General George S. Patton. MSGs support the Diplomatic Security Service mission at more than 180 U.S. diplomatic posts around the world.
