Team Moscow successfully repatriates U.S. citizens

Team Moscow celebrates in the early morning hours after ‘wheels up’ of a U.S. government-chartered flight sending American citizens and residents back to the United States, April 9. The charter flight was arranged after the Russian Federation government suspended regular international air travel both in and out of Russia and closed the borders to most overland traffic. Ambassador John J. Sullivan led the effort, which was managed by the consular section and supported by the entire Mission.
