Ambassador Maria Brewer and Embassy Freetown, Sierra Leone, staff showed their support for “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” by wearing orange, Dec. 6. The color is symbolic of hope, in this case for women to live without fear or threat of violence. Brewer also appeared on a Facebook Live chat with Public Affairs Officer Rob Revere to discuss the threats of violence. “No country is immune from this terrible crime,” Brewer said. “That is why it is so important for all of us to work together to end gender-based violence worldwide.”
