The Public Affairs Section (PAS) at Embassy Dakar hosted a roundtable discussion with Senegal’s top social media influencers, activists, and professionals, Dec. 11. The discussion centered on the role that influencers play in Senegalese society, the mission, and accomplishments of social media activists and the next steps for Senegal’s creative industry of digital media. In response to feedback from the roundtable, PAS Dakar plans to explore ways to further engage this sector, including industry-specific programs on entrepreneurship and business management, and targeted exchange programs. Going forward, PAS will amplify their programs with both traditional and social media campaigns to engage and capitalize on the support that this sector provides.
