Kathmandu reception highlights artist exchange

Ambassador Randy Berry (center, second from left) speaks to an audience of local artists, artisans, and other community members, including visiting Colorado Governor Jared Polis, during a reception at his residence in Kathmandu to celebrate his Art in Embassies (AIE) exhibition and the visit of American artist Sheila Dunn, Nov. 8. The reception came at the conclusion of an AIE artist exchange in which Dunn traveled through Kathmandu and Nepal, meeting with prominent local artists, arts organizations, collectives, and art students. Over the course of the week, Dunn spoke with art council members, conducted workshops, and gave presentations to art students on what it means to be a professional artist.
