The Diplotots One Childcare Center, located at the Department of State’s SA-1 building, provides onsite childcare that gives Department employees a safe and affordable environment for their children during the work day. In May, the Diplotots Board selected the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington as the new provider to manage Diplotots One. At an inauguration ceremony, Oct. 2, the Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources Carol Z. Perez provided remarks along with Diplotots Board President Michael Aktipis and Senior Vice President of Program Development from the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington Janice Williams. Diplotots children serenaded guests with a song, “I am Beautiful.” Perez, staff members from the Office of Employee Relations, Diplotots Board members, and YMCA of Metropolitan Washington representatives joined together for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to close the event.
