Each year, the Public Diplomacy Association of America (PDAA) awards individuals who have demonstrated their ability to provide creative programming, and exhibit strong leadership skills and innovative solutions to pressing social needs. One of the four 2019 winners, Niles Cole, a cultural affairs officer at the U.S. Embassy in Uganda, designed a mobile lab to inspire young students, in particular young women, to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related careers. Other winners included Natella Svistunova, Debra Toribiong and Chris Hodges. More about the winners and PDAA can be found on their website
